The sad news was confirmed by a PDIP official, Junimart Girsang. He said Tjahjo Kumolo died today, Friday (1/7) at around 11.10 WIB at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Jakarta. Previously, Tjahjo had been hospitalized and had been undergoing intensive treatment for the past two weeks. This was the confirmation conveyed by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Syaiful Hidayat. "It's true (Tjahjo was hospitalized), I ask for prayer support for him to recover quickly and be healthy again," said Djarot via short message to CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (24/6).
For information, Tjahjo is a PDIP cadre and was Secretary General. Tjahjo Kumolo resigned from his position as secretary general of the PDIP in 2014 after being elected by Joko Widodo (Jokowi) into the cabinet as minister of the interior.
In the Jokowi administration for the 2019-2024 period, Tjahjo was again trusted to enter the cabinet to serve as Menpan RB. In his political career, the man who was born on December 1, 1957, had joined Golkar before becoming a PDIP cadre. He was also noted to have been the General Chair of the KNPI.
